Wurm is an example of a game that seems extremely simple at first, but it actually works well and provides many surprises. It plays like a typical Snake/Nibbles clone: Collect the fruits to grow your tail, avoid crashing into your own tail or the walls. However, as you progress, more and more elements are added. First you notice that after a certain number of fruit, the end of your tail breaks off and becomes a permanent obstacle on the map. Then a butterfly shows up, which when caught, gives you an extra life. Enemy snakes also make an appearance later, along with other surprises. Worth checking out if you enjoy this type of game.
