Space Commando

About this game

Space Commando is a platformer / shooting game (run and gun) written in QuickBasic. It plays pretty decently, given how poorly a lot of QB-made games run. (Although you need to crank the DOSBox cycles to get it to play at a decent speed.) It has good controls, and some neat features like slopes, a mini-map of the level, and parallax scrolling backgrounds. There is no story, but you dont really need one to blast green slimy aliens. There seem to be some Duke Nukem influences here (for instance, the crates you bust open) but this plays much more linearly.
