PRogue

About this game

PRogue is a Roguelike game, inspired by the original Rogue, but the authors take considerable liberties with their re-interpretation of the game. Like the original, your quest is to recover a special item. There are no character classes here, you are a generic hero-type guy. And while many things are the same (text-mode randomly generated maps, many keyboard hotkeys to accomplish actions), there are many differences, like whenever you encounter an enemy, the view switches to a graphical mode with a drawing of your foe, and you simply repeatedly choose to (F)ight or (R)un. It seems like there is a decent amount of depth here, but it also seems quite difficult as I died quickly whenever I played.
