Permanent Daylight
About this game
For those of you who enjoyed classic adventure games from Sierra like Space Quest, Kings Quest and Leisure Suit Larry (for older gamers, of course ...) and Lucasarts games like Monkey Island, this is the game for you! Its a bit short (I finished it in roughly a half hour) and the plot is a bit of an adventure game cliche by now, but it has great graphics and an interface almost identical to that of the later Sierra point and click games.Permanent Daylight is a unique and atmospheric DOS action-adventure game with a sci-fi twist. The game immerses players in a futuristic world where they must navigate surreal landscapes, solve puzzles, and survive against challenging foes, all under the constant glare of eternal daylight. Gameplay: Players control a protagonist tasked with exploring a mysterious, brightly lit environment, where shadows are nonexistent, and the perpetual daylight has unsettling effects on the world. The game combines exploration with fast-paced combat, requiring players to outwit enemies and make use of environmental elements for survival. Puzzles and obstacles are scattered throughout the levels, challenging players to use logic and creativity to progress. The persistent daylight introduces unique gameplay mechanics, such as light-based hazards or visibility puzzles, making the environment itself a key part of the challenge. Features: Graphics and Atmosphere: Retro-style pixel graphics with an otherworldly aesthetic create a captivating and eerie atmosphere. Sound Design: An ambient soundtrack and dynamic sound effects enhance the immersive experience. Storyline: The narrative explores themes of isolation, survival, and the mysteries behind the unending daylight. Permanent Daylight stands out as a thought-provoking and challenging DOS game, blending action, strategy, and a mysterious setting to create a memorable gaming experience for fans of retro adventures.
