Pentix
About this game
Pentix is a DOS-based puzzle game and a variant of the classic Tetris. It takes the familiar block-stacking mechanics of Tetris and adds an extra layer of challenge by introducing more complex pentomino shapes (blocks made up of five squares) instead of the traditional tetrominoes (blocks made up of four squares). Gameplay: Players must rotate and position falling pentomino shapes to create complete horizontal lines, which are then cleared from the board. The game ends when the stack of blocks reaches the top of the screen, so strategic placement and quick thinking are key. Compared to Tetris, the pentomino shapes are larger and more irregular, making it harder to fit them together, which increases the difficulty level. As the game progresses, the speed of the falling blocks increases, challenging the players reflexes and planning abilities. With its retro graphics, simple controls, and addictive gameplay, Pentix offers a fresh twist on a timeless classic, providing a more challenging and engaging experience for puzzle enthusiasts and fans of Tetris-style games.
