Outer Ridge is sort of a 3D interpretation of the classic Asteroids arcade game. You fly around in space and shoot nicely pre-rendered asteroids. You can also sometimes collect powerups. Once youve achieved the level objective, you just need to fly through the exit, and youll be ready for the next stage. The 3D perspective is neat and visually impressive but despite the two radar screens, its difficult to control and disorienting to watch.Outer Ridge is a DOS-based game, released in the early 1990s.
