About this game

Minefield For Everybody (MFE) is a text-mode implementation of Minesweeper. Set the size of your map, and use the mouse to deduce where the mines are located. You can choose from several different sizes of maps, and also save your game to continue playing later. It also offers a fairly useless "high-res" mode. Thats about it, its a decent text-mode version of Minesweeper for DOS which should run on most old PCs you have lying around.Minefield For Everybody is a DOS-based game, likely inspired by the popular "Minesweeper" game that was included in many early versions of Windows. In Minefield For Everybody, players are tasked with uncovering a grid of cells without triggering hidden mines. The goal is to reveal all the non-mined cells while avoiding the mines, similar to traditional Minesweeper gameplay.Minefield For Everybody is a classic minesweeper-style game where the player must clear a grid of hidden mines without triggering them. The game is known for its simplicity, requiring players to use logic and deduction to avoid mines and uncover the safe cells. Core Gameplay Mechanics: Game Board: The game consists of a grid of covered squares, some of which contain hidden mines. Players click on the squares to reveal their contents. Each revealed square either displays a number (indicating how many mines are adjacent to that square) or a blank space (indicating no mines nearby). Avoiding Mines: The key objective is to avoid clicking on a square that contains a mine. If a mine is revealed, the game ends, and the player loses. If the player successfully reveals all the safe squares, they win the round. Number Clues: Each number on a revealed square indicates how many adjacent squares (including diagonals) contain mines. Players use this information to deduce the location of mines and avoid dangerous cells. Flagging Mines: Players can flag squares where they believe a mine is located. This helps avoid accidental clicks on those squares. Flagging is important for keeping track of potential hazards as players solve the puzzle. Difficulty Levels: The game typically offers multiple difficulty levels, ranging from easy (with fewer mines) to hard (with more mines and larger grids). As the difficulty increases, the grid size grows, and more mines are added, making it more challenging to find and avoid the mines. Winning and Losing: The player wins by successfully uncovering all the safe squares without triggering any mines. The game ends when the player uncovers a square containing a mine, causing an explosion and a loss.
