Iron Blood (aka Interrupt in Korea) is a professionally produced platforming game (say that three times fast) released in 1996. First you choose one of two mechs: The red mech is slower but more powerful with a rocket booster, while the blue mech is faster but weaker. Then you progress through the stages from left to right, with some exploration but still mostly linearly.Set in a dystopian future, humanity faces extinction at the hands of the Iron Legion, a brutal army of machines created by a rogue AI known as The Overmind. You play as Commander Rhyne, a cybernetically enhanced soldier leading the human resistance. Armed with advanced weapons and your own mechanical upgrades, you must infiltrate enemy strongholds, destroy key targets, and unravel the Overminds plans. Gameplay: "Iron Blood" combines fast-paced action with tactical depth. Game Modes: Campaign Mode: A series of missions across diverse environments (urban ruins, industrial factories, underground bunkers, and alien machine worlds). Each mission ends with a boss fight against an Iron Legion war machine. Survival Mode: Face endless waves of enemies to test your skills and endurance. Combat and Mechanics: Weapons: Start with a basic plasma rifle. Collect upgrades like flamethrowers, railguns, and EMP launchers. Limited ammo for special weapons encourages strategic use. Melee Combat: A retractable energy blade for close-range attacks. Combos for devastating melee strikes. Cybernetic Abilities: Dash (to avoid attacks or close distances). Temporary shield (to absorb damage). Hacking (to turn enemy turrets or drones against their creators). Enemies: Basic Units: Drones, cyborg infantry, and walker mechs. Advanced Units: Shielded sentries, flying units, and giant spider tanks. Bosses: Each level ends with a massive boss, like the "Metal Leviathan" or "Overminds Harbinger."
