Looking for a space invaders clone? This one is pretty good. It takes the authentic, "no-frills" route, and does a pretty good job. All the excitement of moving your ship, hiding behind barriers, and shooting aliens that are moving in a back-and-forth attack pattern ... its all here! It isnt pretty to look at, but it does play well, and has some SB sound effects as well. It also includes the .BAS Basic source code.Invaders 1978 is a DOS-based game inspired by the legendary arcade classic Space Invaders. Released in the late 1970s or early 1980s, it brings the iconic space invader-shooting mechanics to personal computers, retaining much of the feel and gameplay of the original arcade version. The gameplay in Invaders 1978 follows the same structure as the Space Invaders arcade game. You control a laser cannon that moves horizontally at the bottom of the screen, shooting at rows of invading alien enemies that move down towards you in a grid formation. Wave of Enemies: The enemies move in rows and columns, and as you destroy them, the remaining invaders move faster and descend lower towards your position, increasing the level of difficulty. The goal is to clear each wave of enemies while avoiding their projectiles.
