About this game

Iago (DOS) is a variant of the classic Othello board game, also known as Reversi, with some unique mechanics added to the traditional gameplay. The game challenges players to outmaneuver the computer by changing as many of the opponents tiles to their own color through strategic moves. Game Overview: Gameplay Mechanics: Objective: The main goal in Iago is to convert the computers red tiles into yellow tiles (the players color) by jumping over them. When you jump over an opponents tile, it flips, changing its color to your own. The more tiles you flip, the more successful you are in the game. Jumping Mechanic: Unlike traditional Othello, where players flip tiles by placing a piece next to an opponent’s tile and enclosing them, in Iago, players jump over one or multiple tiles. Any tile(s) jumped over will change to the players color. Move Undo: The game features a "take back" feature, allowing the player to undo their previous move. This gives a bit of flexibility, especially in the face of mistakes or poor moves. No Two-Player Mode: Iago is a single-player game where you compete against the computer, making it a challenge to outsmart the AI and flip as many of its pieces as possible. Game Board: The game is played on a board similar to Othello (an 8x8 grid). The player starts with a few yellow pieces placed on the board, and the computer has red pieces. The player can only make a move by jumping over an opponents piece (or pieces), flipping them to their own color. The jumps can be performed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, just like in traditional Reversi, but the flipping of tiles works differently.
