Frogger Jr
About this game
Frogger Jr is a CGA adaptation of Frogger, or maybe more accurately a clone of Hopper which is itself a clone of Frogger. It runs a bit jerky, maybe because of DOSBox, which should be set to a low cycle count if youre using it. Not surprising since the game was released in 1984. The game offers different difficulty settings, but the only difference seems to be the amount of time you get to successfully make it across the road and river.Frogger Jr. is a charming arcade-style game designed as a simpler, more kid-friendly version of the classic Frogger. Released in 1992 for DOS, this game retains the same basic concept as the original Frogger but introduces easier gameplay, colorful visuals, and a more accessible experience for younger players. Key Features: Simplified Gameplay: Frogger Jr. features simplified mechanics compared to the original Frogger, making it ideal for younger audiences or those looking for a less intense challenge. The player controls a frog and must navigate it through a series of obstacles, including busy streets and rivers. The primary objective remains the same: get the frog safely across the screen while avoiding cars, trucks, and other hazards. Kid-Friendly Difficulty: Unlike the original, which could be quite challenging with fast-moving cars and tricky platforms, Frogger Jr. has slower obstacles, fewer hazards, and easier level layouts. This ensures a more relaxed, family-friendly experience. The game provides a less punishing experience, making it perfect for kids to enjoy without feeling frustrated. Bright and Colorful Graphics: The visuals in Frogger Jr. are vibrant and playful, with cartoonish character designs that appeal to younger players. The game features simplified, bright colors that create a welcoming atmosphere. The frog and the surrounding environment, including the roads, rivers, and trees, are designed in a kid-friendly, non-threatening style.
