Fracas
About this game
Fracas is a well done Bomberman clone that has been given a fantasy themed makeover. In this game you play a wizard who lays magical "bombs" to defeat your enemies. Up to four players can play at once (sharing the same computer) and the game features nice smooth scrolling graphics and great sounds. (Note that this game was originally shareware but was recently released as freeware by its authors!) Fracas is a classic action-packed DOS game that was released in the early 1990s. Known for its fast-paced and chaotic gameplay, Fracas challenges players to navigate various obstacles, defeat enemies, and overcome challenges to progress through each level. The game combines action, strategy, and quick reflexes, making it a fun and engaging experience for players who enjoy old-school arcade games. Key Features: Objective: The main goal in Fracas is to defeat enemies, avoid obstacles, and complete levels. Each level presents new challenges, and players must make quick decisions to advance. The game is about surviving wave after wave of enemies while managing your resources and actions effectively. Gameplay: Fracas features top-down or side-scrolling action, depending on the level or stage. Players must move through each level, collect items, fight off enemies, and solve simple puzzles or challenges. The game requires sharp reflexes and precise movements, as enemies can appear suddenly and overwhelm the player if theyre not careful. CGA Graphics: Fracas uses CGA (Color Graphics Adapter) graphics, which, by todays standards, may look quite simple but were typical of the time. The graphics are colorful, pixelated, and straightforward, helping to establish the games action-packed atmosphere without distracting from the gameplay. Weapons and Power-ups: Throughout the game, players can find various weapons, power-ups, and items that help them survive longer and defeat tougher enemies. These power-ups can boost health, increase attack power, or provide temporary invincibility, adding an extra layer of strategy to the game. Enemies and Obstacles: The game features a variety of enemies, from simple creatures to more complex foes. Players must learn how to deal with different types of enemies by using the right tactics, whether its attacking head-on, using weapons, or evading enemy attacks. Obstacles in the game also add difficulty, forcing players to time their movements carefully. Increasing Difficulty: As with most action games of the era, Fracas increases in difficulty as players progress through the levels. The game introduces new types of enemies, faster-paced action, and more complex environments, requiring players to adapt and refine their strategies. Simple Controls: The controls in Fracas are basic, with keyboard commands used to move, jump, and attack. The simplicity of the controls makes it accessible to new players while still offering a challenge to experienced gamers who want to master the game.
