Calamari Cubes 2: Pipeline to Hell
About this game
Calamari Cubes 2 is a platformer game with generally good production values but the game itself is not great. The goal of each level is to repair all of the pipes so that the crates can be teleported back to somewhere, or something. Its a little confusing and the controls are not super intuitive but at least theres in-game instructions (press I just after the title screen).Calamari Cubes 2: Pipeline to Hell is a DOS-based action-puzzle game and the sequel to the original Calamari Cubes. It combines elements of puzzle-solving with fast-paced action, offering a unique and fun gameplay experience where players must navigate a world full of obstacles and enemies while solving challenging puzzles. Gameplay Mechanics: Objective: In Calamari Cubes 2: Pipeline to Hell, players are tasked with navigating through a series of increasingly difficult levels filled with obstacles, enemies, and puzzles. The goal is to move cubes (which represent the protagonist or the "calamari" itself) through mazes, connecting pipes, and manipulating the environment to reach a specific exit point. Controls: Arrow Keys: Used to move the cube around the environment. Action Keys: Specific keys will interact with the environment, such as rotating pipes or triggering mechanisms, to help clear obstacles and open pathways. Spacebar: Often used for jumping or activating special actions in the game. Gameplay Style: Puzzle and Strategy: The game features levels that require both quick reflexes and strategic thinking. Each level contains a variety of puzzles where you need to connect pipes, avoid hazards, and move through labyrinth-like environments. Action Elements: While puzzle-solving is central to the gameplay, there are also action elements, including evading enemies and environmental hazards, like fire or water traps. Obstacles: Some levels have specific challenges such as shifting platforms, locked doors, and timed switches that require you to act quickly. Levels and Progression: The game is divided into various levels, each with its own set of puzzles and challenges. As you advance, the levels become more complex, and you encounter new types of enemies and obstacles. Some levels have a more action-oriented focus, requiring quick reflexes and precision, while others are more about solving intricate puzzles with a slower pace. Enemies and Hazards: Enemies: The game includes various types of enemies that patrol certain areas, and you must avoid or neutralize them to progress. Environmental Hazards: Each level includes obstacles such as fire, water, and moving platforms, making navigation difficult and requiring careful planning and timing.
