About this game

Bulls and Bears is an extremely simple stock market simulation game for up to four players. You buy / sell stocks and bonds, and see how much money you make / lose. Then you buy / sell again, and the process repeats. In between, you see a newspaper headline that supposedly gives you a tip on how the prices might change.Bulls and Bears is a DOS-based financial simulation game that was released in the early 1990s. The game centers around stock market trading, where the player takes on the role of an investor trying to make profitable decisions in a simulated market environment. Gameplay Mechanics: Objective: The player’s goal in Bulls and Bears is to buy and sell stocks, attempting to make profitable trades and increase their wealth over a set period. The game simulates a dynamic stock market where prices fluctuate based on various factors, such as news, company performance, and global events. Players must use their knowledge of market trends, speculation, and strategy to predict price movements and maximize returns. Stock Market Simulation: The game presents a virtual stock exchange where the player can buy shares in different companies. Each company has a fluctuating stock price based on the market’s performance, news events, and random factors, which the player must track. The player can buy stocks when they are low and sell when they rise to make a profit. Game Modes: Campaign Mode: The player typically starts with a set amount of money and tries to build their wealth by trading over a series of weeks or months. Single-Session Mode: In this mode, the player plays a quick session to buy and sell stocks within a limited time to see how much money they can make. Market Events and News: In Bulls and Bears, the simulated stock market is influenced by events that can change stock prices. For example, a company may announce a new product, face a crisis, or be affected by an external event like a war or a government regulation. Players need to keep an eye on the news ticker, which updates the market based on these events. The ability to react to these events quickly and accurately is key to making a profit. Buying and Selling: Players can choose which stocks to buy and sell based on current market prices and predictions. Some versions of the game allow for advanced trading techniques such as short selling or margin trading. Competition: In some versions of Bulls and Bears, there are AI competitors in the game who are also trading stocks. Players must outsmart these competitors to win, by anticipating their moves and reacting quicker to market changes. The game may feature a scoring system based on how much profit the player makes by the end of the game, with higher scores awarded for better performance.
