Blots
About this game
Blots is a classic DOS-based puzzle game where players must navigate a series of challenging levels by manipulating various objects, such as ink blots, through a grid-based environment. The game combines elements of strategy, logic, and precision as players work to achieve specific goals, such as filling spaces, avoiding obstacles, or reaching certain targets, using the available blots. Features: Unique Puzzle Mechanics: In Blots, players must use ink blots (or similar objects) to interact with a series of obstacles, barriers, and other elements on a grid. The goal in each level is typically to solve a specific puzzle using the blots to reach a target or fill certain spaces, depending on the levels objectives. Strategic Thinking: The game requires careful planning and foresight as players must position the blots in just the right way to clear paths or activate certain in-game elements. The puzzles become progressively more difficult, demanding more advanced strategies and creative problem-solving. Grid-Based Movement: Each level is presented as a grid where players can move objects or blots in different directions, attempting to fill spaces or solve challenges. The movement of the blots is often constrained by the layout of the level, requiring players to think ahead and use the limited space efficiently. Increasing Complexity: As players advance through the levels, the difficulty increases, with more complex puzzles and new mechanics being introduced. Obstacles, moving platforms, or additional environmental elements are gradually added, requiring more precise timing and innovative solutions. Simple Controls: The game uses basic keyboard controls to move blots and interact with the grid. Players can use the arrow keys or other simple commands to move and position objects, making it easy to learn but challenging to master. The controls focus on precision, requiring players to think through each action carefully. Blots is a Boulderdash-like game with the main innovation that there are two player characters on the screen. I suppose you could actually use two people to move them, but you really only need one person to move both. Youll need to push rocks and blow up bombs to clear a path to exit the level. The full game has 100 levels, not sure how many this shareware version contains.
