About this game

Beetris is a fun, quirky DOS-based puzzle game that is essentially a variation of the classic Tetris game, incorporating some unique twists. The game was popular in the early 1990s and retains the core mechanics of Tetris, but with a different theme and gameplay elements. Gameplay Mechanics: Core Concept: Beetris follows the same core mechanics as Tetris, where the player is presented with falling blocks (called tetrominoes) that need to be arranged in a grid. The goal is to complete horizontal lines without gaps, which causes those lines to disappear, freeing up space. The game continues until the pieces stack up to the top of the screen, preventing further blocks from falling. Tetrominoes: Just like in Tetris, the game features seven types of tetrominoes (shapes made up of four blocks) that fall from the top of the screen. The player must rotate and move them to fit them into the available space. These pieces fall in a random order, and the player needs to plan their moves to efficiently complete lines. Unique Features: In Beetris, one of the main differentiators is the visual theme or added mechanics. For example, while traditional Tetris has simple geometric shapes, Beetris may feature different block designs, such as themed blocks or unique colors. The game might include different sound effects or background music that are more engaging and varied compared to the original Tetris game. Depending on the version, there may be power-ups or special blocks that offer additional abilities, such as clearing multiple lines or freezing time. Scoring: Beetris uses a scoring system similar to Tetris, where you earn points based on how many lines you clear at once. Clearing more lines at the same time (such as a double, triple, or tetris – clearing four lines at once) results in higher scores. The game may also have an added combo system that gives you extra points for clearing multiple lines in quick succession. Speed and Difficulty: As you progress in Beetris, the falling pieces typically increase in speed, making it more challenging. Higher speeds require quicker reactions and more precise placements of the blocks. In many versions of Beetris, as the game progresses, the difficulty may also include more complex block shapes or new rules, adding variety to the gameplay. Objective: The main objective, just like Tetris, is to keep clearing lines and prevent the stack of blocks from reaching the top. The longer you play, the faster the pieces fall, and the more difficult it becomes to keep the game going.
