Avanor is a ASCII roguelike which follows the general model of ADOM but adds its own unique twists. Its unclear exactly how finished it is, and with the promised version 0.6.0 being announced 14 years ago (as of 2020) it seems unlikely that any more updates are forthcoming. Like most roguelikes you first choose your character type, then venture into the world and try not to get killed. Avanor is a DOS-based role-playing game (RPG) set in a mystical, fantasy world filled with dangerous creatures, ancient ruins, and powerful magic. Players take on the role of a hero on a quest to save the world of Avanor from an impending evil force. Featuring turn-based combat, exploration, and a richly woven story, Avanor offers a classic RPG experience that challenges both your strategic thinking and adventure skills. Features: Expansive World to Explore: Travel through various environments, including towns, forests, caves, and dungeons. Each location is packed with secrets, treasures, and hidden paths to discover.
