About this game

Angband began as a variant of the Roguelike game Moria, and eventually became so modified and unique that it now stands alone (and has variants of its own like ZAngband). Like Rogue, Nethack, etc Angband (is name originates from J. R. R. Tolkiens works) features deep gameplay and randomly generated dungeons. The most current version includes tiled graphics by default, and you begin the game in a simple town. Angband is a classic DOS-based roguelike RPG that plunges you into the depths of a dark and dangerous dungeon filled with monsters, traps, and treasures. Inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, this game challenges you to explore a vast, procedurally-generated dungeon in search of legendary items and to defeat powerful enemies, including the dark lord Morgoth. Features: Procedurally Generated Dungeon: Each playthrough offers a unique dungeon layout, ensuring no two adventures are the same. Turn-Based Combat: Engage in strategic turn-based battles against a wide range of enemies, from lowly goblins to fearsome dragons and dark lords. Deep Loot System: Collect weapons, armor, magical artifacts, and potions to enhance your character’s abilities and survival chances. Character Development: Choose from a variety of character classes (warrior, wizard, rogue, etc.), and level up your hero by gaining experience and improving your stats. Permadeath and Replayability: The game features permadeath, meaning if you die, you start over—but each attempt offers new challenges and experiences. Classic ASCII Graphics: The dungeon and characters are represented using simple ASCII characters, capturing the retro feel of early roguelikes.
