Thirty One
About this game
Thirty One is a classic and strategic card game based on the popular German game 31 (or Schnautz). The objective is to improve your hand by swapping cards with the central cards in the middle, aiming to get as close as possible to a total value of 31 in a single suit. The game combines elements of luck, strategy, and risk management, making it both challenging and entertaining. How to Play: Starting Hand: Each player is dealt three cards. The goal is to have the highest total value of cards in one suit. Card Values: Ace = 11 points King, Queen, Jack = 10 points Number cards (2-10) = face value Swapping Cards: On your turn, you can swap one or more of your cards with the central cards in the middle. The central cards are face-up and available to all players. Objective: Try to get as close to 31 points as possible in a single suit. For example, having three hearts with values adding up to 31 is ideal. Knocking: If you’re confident in your hand, you can "knock" to end the round. Other players get one final turn to improve their hands before scores are compared. Winning: The player with the highest total in one suit wins the round. If a player reaches exactly 31, they can declare "31" and win immediately. Features: Strategic Swapping: Carefully decide which cards to swap to maximize your score while minimizing your opponents opportunities. Risk and Reward: Balancing the decision to knock or keep playing adds an exciting layer of risk to the game. Simple Rules, Deep Gameplay: Easy to learn but difficult to master, Thirty One offers a satisfying blend of strategy and luck. Multiplayer Fun: While traditionally played with friends, this digital version allows you to enjoy the game solo or against AI opponents.
